Wet Leg served as the musical guest on the inaugural episode of Saturday Night Live UK on March 21. The British indie-rock band played “Mangetout” and “Catch These Fists” alongside host Tina Fey. Check out videos of both performances below.

The new series, which airs on Sky TV in the UK, is set to premiere on Peacock this evening. Jamie Dornan and Riz Ahmed will host the next two episodes, alongside musical guests Wolf Alice and Kasabian. The series’ debut cast consists of Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

The original Saturday Night Live, which is in its 51st season, is currently on hiatus—the next episode, set for April 4, will feature Jack Black as host and Jack White as musical guest. Other musical guests this season have included Harry Styles, Gorillaz, Geese, and A$AP Rocky.

UK indie-rock sensations Wet Leg have officially arrived in the American mainstream, delivering a high-energy performance on Saturday Night Live (SNL). The duo, consisting of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, brought their signature quirky charm and infectious guitar riffs to the iconic Studio 8H, performing their breakout hit “Chaise Longue” and the fan-favorite “Wet Dream.”

Their performance was characterized by the deadpan humor and effortless stage presence that have made them a global phenomenon since their debut. Clad in their distinctive prairie-style dresses, the band perfectly captured the “post-punk with a smile” aesthetic that has seen them rise quickly through the ranks of the UK indie scene. Critics and fans alike have noted that their SNL appearance felt like a victory lap for a band that has successfully revitalized guitar-driven indie music for a younger audience.

Wet Leg’s rise to fame has been meteoric, and this SNL slot serves as a major milestone in their career. As they continue their North American tour, the buzz surrounding their self-titled debut album only continues to grow. For music fans tired of overly polished pop, Wet Leg provides a refreshing, raw, and genuinely fun alternative that is clearly resonating on both sides of the Atlantic.

Wet Leg released their most recent album, Moisturizer, in 2025; it followed their 2022 self-titled debut. Moisturizer was nominated for three awards at the 2026 Grammys, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance.
